Problem

A portion of Zarzamora Creek in northwest San Antonio, TX was severely damaged when an earthen channel failed during a flood. With frequent flooding occurring during rain events, this problem could not be left unsolved. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) stepped in and funded the channel's repairs.

Solution

PYRAMAT® 75 High Performance Turf Reinforcement Mat (HPTRM) was chosen to be installed up the channel side slope for immediate and sustainable protection. This three-dimensional, lofty, woven polypropylene geotextile was specifically designed for erosion control applications on steep slopes and vegetated waterways.
