A landfill in New Haven, CT needed to be closed but had become too full for the standard design for closure. A new capping system needed to be designed to safely and cost-effetely close the landfill. They also needed to take into
consideration that surrounding wetlands and make sure the new solution would also provide water quality protection. After much research, a new capping system had been designed but would require much steeper slopes than was standard,
causing concern for the potential that the slope will take on heavey erosion damage over time.
