Problem

The Univar chemical facility is located on the bank of the Monongahela River. Increased river flow resulting from heavy rainfall was eroding away the riverbank along the facilities property. This threatened the river dock and piping infrastructure of the facility, and potential property loss was also a concern.

Solution

The consulting engineer selected ARMORMAX® Engineered Earth Armoring SolutionTM as the method for bank stabilization. This system was chosen because it offered significantly lower cost and faster installation than traditional hard armoring solutions, such as rock and concrete.
