The Smith Residence was losing around 12” annually of valuable lakeside property due to fluctuation in water levels and shoreline erosion. The customer wanted a solution that would regain shoreline, enhance the aesthetics of their property, and create an area that was safe for walking.

Traditional riprap lining and gabion baskets did not meet this criteria. ARMORMAX® Engineered Earth Armoring Solution was the perfect alternative to protect banks from wind-generated wave erosion, while providing a vegetated solution for stabilization. The material was installed quickly, and allowed for minimal disturbance of the residence.

At the one year inspection, the slopes had no visible erosion and vegetation was at 95-100%. Additionally, ARMORMAX can withstand non-hydraulic stresses such as mowing and maintenance equipment, allowing the home owner easy upkeep of the area.
